Chehni Kothi, the tower of Chehni, is the tallest free-standing structure in the Western Himalayas.
The 1,500-year old castle in Banjar region of Kullu is built with stone slabs and wooden beams.
Also known as Dhadhia Kothi after Rana Dhadhia, the erstwhile king of Kullu, who resided in the castle.
The watchtower of Chehni used to be 15-storey high. The earthquake of 1905 reduced it to 10 floors which still remain.
